Equality Statement

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability status

Crime & Disorder Statement

It is a statutory requirement for all departments in TfL to follow Section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

Section 17 requires authorities to consider the likely affect on crime and disorder and community safety in all that they do, and take action to prevent crime and disorder, substance misuse, anti-social behaviour and behaviour that adversely affects the environment.

TfL has voluntarily been committed to following Section 17 since 2006, but we must all make sure that it is considered in decision making, policies and procedures in the same way that equality and health and safety are.

By 2030, 10 million people will live in London. Millions more will continue to visit. TfL keeps our amazing city moving, working and growing. But the challenge has never been bigger. Or more exciting. We’re already operating at the leading edge of tech and data. Every year, we invest in technology and now, we want to invest in you. Together, we’ll do the extraordinary.

What we can achieve

Get ready for an incredible journey – of discovery, of development, of achievement. We will push the boundaries of what tech and data can do. To understand where we’re going, let’s look at where we are today. Trains are more frequent and road journeys smoother thanks to advances in modern signalling tech. Customer experiences are being transformed by real-time information, via the groundbreaking iBus location system. And our pioneering work in contactless has made us the leaders of e-ticketing in transport. That’s not all. Mobile devices, virtual reality, Big Data – all these things and more are driving the evolution of what’s possible. Are you ready to play a part?

The role you’ll play

Joining a talented Kanban team; you’ll build, deploy and support our public websites and apps. The challenge of making them ever-more elegant and robust – no matter the number of users – won’t be easy. But with the support of other Scrum teams, this is a chance to use your Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) expertise to shape software used by millions of Londoners daily.

What we’re looking for

First and foremost, you’ll be the kind of person who lives and breathes ‘continuous improvement’. And with knowledge of AWS, EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, Software Defined Infrastructure, PowerShell scripting and tools such as Puppet or Chef in your armoury – you’ll make those improvements happen. Beyond that, any experience of Team City, SQL Server and Vanish Cache you have, the better.
